NEWS BASF to focus on 3D print


BASF has established a new group company to focus on 3D printing. The move follows its acquisition of Dutch filament and 3D print polymer producer Innofil3D. BASF 3D Printing Solutions will be part of BASF New Business and will be headed by Volker Hammes, Managing Director of BASF New Business. The new company will employ around 30 staff and will be based at the InnovationLab site in Heidelberg, Germany. It will incorporate the 3D printing application technology centre of BASF’s Deutsche Nanoschicht subsidiary. According to BASF, the new unit will focus on

Trinseo speeds things up


Resin maker Trinseo has introduced its Rapid Response compounds service to the North American market, from where it will serve North American customers and their international sites. Perstorp is to upgrade its Capa caprolactone plant at War- rington in the UK with a major update to its monomer plant. Construction work will start at the beginning of 2018.
