Marketing Manager at Rexor in France, will discuss the application of bright metallised paper for luxury packaging. Colour plays a critical role in the cosmetics


industry. Carola Seybold, Director of Business Development and Head of Marketing at Pantone in the UK will discuss future colour trends and developments, while Anatoli Davydov, Project Manager for Packaging and Conformity at Pa- piertechnische Stiftung in Germany, will wrap up the session with a case study on the future-oriented project ‘Fibres & Paper 2030’. The presentation will include detail on functionalisation of fibre-based cosmetics packaging. The final session of the first day will look at printing and labelling developments. Denis Rousseau, Labelling Market Manager for Jindal Films in Luxembourg, will discuss the application of its hybrid plastic labels in the cosmetic industry. And the day will be brought to a close by Raphaël Durand, General Manager of France-based Labelys Group/Etiqroll who will speak about its award- winning project to use 3D gilding to create a high quality “no label” appearance on cosmetic bottles.

This perspective will be delivered by Dr Pascale Gauthier, from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Pharmacy University of Clermont-Ferrand in France. Agnion Mpiere, Managing Director of Saabelis, also based in France, will talk about a new sampling and single dose concept that can offer an enhanced customer experience. The technical theme will continue in a joint


presentation by Alexandre Basson, Marketing and Business Development Director at Gualapack Group in Italy and Stéphane Mathieu, R&D Packaging Manager at Aisa Automation Industri- elle in Switzerland, who will speak about the use of asymmetric technologies for laminate tubes. Finally, Karina Puurunen, Senior Consultant at Pöyry Management Consulting in Finland, will detail a case study explaining how innovation can be brought to luxury cosmetics packages. Attention will then turn to the application of


packaging technology to enhance product performance and functionality. Dr Nicholas Thorne, from the R&D Department at RPC Group Bramlage Division in Germany, will address formula protection and the packaging strategies it offers to assist brands in their development. Then Rob Tipper, Business Development Manager at Amaray in the UK, will talk about creating “addic- tive functionality” with engaging packaging.


Material moves The final session of the conference will cover material developments for cosmetics packaging applications. Dr Cheryl M. Stancik, Principal Investigator for Product Technology R&D at The Chemours Company, Titanium Technologies in the US, will deliver a presentation covering light protective package design. And the conference will be brought to a close by Alexander Knott, AETS Senior Specialist at Dow Corning Europe in Belgium, who will explore the role of silicone- based materials as functional coatings.
