Coperion owner to buy Schenck


Hillenbrand, which owns Coperion, Milacron and Herbold, is to acquire the Schenck Process Food and Performance Materials business (FPM) from Black- stone for around $730m. Headquartered in Kansas City in the US, the FPM business includes 1,300 employees and sells to more than 150 countries. It specialises in design, manufacture, and service of feeding, filtration, baking, and material handling technologies. It is forecast to generate around $540m revenue and $68m of EBITDA in 2023. Hillenbrand said FPM — which includes brands such as Baker Perkins and


Kemutec — will become part of the Coperion Food, Health and Nutrition division. It will also bring new technologies to the Coperion polymer portfolio. “This acquisition builds on the momentum gener- ated over the last twelve months as Coperion has built up its strategic strength in the food end market and expanded its footprint,” said Ulrich Bartel, President of Coperion. “For our polymer, chemicals, and minerals business, this acquisition means an expansion of our existing product portfolio, and we will be able to offer our customers even better solutions.”. � https://hillenbrand.com

PEEK grade targets high performance motor wiring


Solvay set sights on motor wire insulation


Solvay has launched KetaSpire KT-857, a new PEEK com- pound designed for extrusion of copper magnet wire insulation for high performance electric motors. The new grade offers high adhesion and can be applied in a single layer, eliminating the risk of inter-layer defects the company says can occur with alternatives such as polyimide. �www.solvay.com
