s school districts procure new school buses to add to their fleets, they are in- creasingly encountering new technology such as driver assistance systems and electric charge management systems. What are some best practices in manag- ing them?


Take advanced driver assistance systems, or ADAS. Different variations assist drivers


with road safety and have become standard equipment from some school bus manufac- turers. Software and hardware such as sensors and cameras detect nearby obstacles or driver errors and react accordingly to avoid or mitigate crashes and resulting injuries.
