Changes at the helm The end of 2025 saw several changes at a senior management and Board level. Cole Agbede

Cole joined as Non-Executive Director of the Board in November. A Senior Associate at Warburg Pincus, Cole brings great experience across finance, investment and commercial strategy. His commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion will help us achieve more as we seek to break down barriers to participation across our sport.

Duncan Rutherford and Corinne Cunningham

Duncan and Corinne were re-elected to the Board for a second term. Both have already made invaluable contributions to the RYA, particularly in the areas of digital transformation and risk management. We look forward to continuing these productive working relationships and thank them for their hard work so far.

Nick Scott

Nick, former Director of Racing, now oversees the newly created Sport Department, bringing our Sport Development and Racing Department under one banner to broaden participation and build more inclusive pathways.

James Stuart

James, CEO of RYA Cymru Wales, was named RYA Director of Corporate Affairs. Taking this role on alongside his RYA Cymru Wales duties, James will support the work of the newly created Corporate Affairs Department, strengthening the RYA’s strategic, governance and regulatory activity.

We said goodbye to...

We also saw change in the senior leadership of the organisation as we moved into 2026. We said goodbye and a big thank you to Dr Misha Engineer, a member of the RYA Board, Rob Clark, who led the Sport Development Department and Mel Hide, Director of External Affairs, as they moved on to new opportunities.
