Looking to the horizon


Our Together on Water strategy has always championed the joy, freedom and lifelong benefits that sailing and boating can bring, while placing safe, welcoming and inclusive environments at the heart of everything we do. Since launching the strategy in 2023, we’ve embedded our community at the heart of everything we do and we’re seeing the impact of that throughout this report.


But the world is changing and too many still feel like spending time on the water is not for them. That must change. Because whatever you are looking for, you can find it on the water.


Based on everything we’ve learnt through Together on Water so far, we have begun to define a new vision to work towards.


• A vision that sees being on the water become a natural part of British life


• A vision that ensures everyone can access the benefits of being on the water, and our communities afloat reflect the communities ashore


• A vision that creates opportunities for young people, women and girls to thrive, so more people than ever before feel connected to the water


• A vision that creates connection and inspires a shared commitment to protect the waters that bring us together


It all comes down to this simple idea:


We are an island nation and being on the water should be part of our national identity, something that belongs to everyone.


Our strategy to achieve this is still evolving. Over the next ten years, our work will be guided by four cross-cutting priorities that sit at the heart of the strategy.
