External assurance of emissions data
Our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions for both 2024/25 and 2025/26 have been independently validated by Simply Sustainable formerly known as Carbon Responsible, an external third-party organisation. This provides additional assurance over the accuracy and reliability of our reported emissions data and supports the transparency and integrity of our carbon reporting..
Looking out for the people who work for us
• We recently reviewed and updated our employment policies and procedures to ensure they remained aligned with changes in the UK employment legislation and reflected current best practices. This included updates to key people policies covering dignity at work, family leave, and mental health and employee wellbeing. We have also begun to prepare for the implementation of the Employment Rights Act 2026 through a phased review of our policies, employment practices and management processes.
• Work has started on completing the Sport England Moving to Inclusion Framework. We have started to collate feedback from colleagues in line with each module of the framework, ensuring that we get balanced and non-biased scores for the ranking embedded within each section. The first section focuses on culture. We will receive a mentor to help us embed changes throughout the organisation based upon the feedback gathered.
• Equality, Diversion, and Inclusion eLearning has been rolled out to all RYA staff, with an 80% completion rate at time of reporting.
• A new Safe Sport Education Officer role was introduced in 2025 to support the creation of Safe Sport action plans covering safeguarding, anti-doping, integrity and inclusion.
• Our subject matter experts within the Safe Sport team have supported more than 50 clubs with advice and guidance on EDI matters.
