This issue features a special supplement on the presence of women in flooring. We spoke to five business women across different sectors of our industry, including public relations, sales, events management, construction and engineering, and interviewed each about their experiences. These women shared with me their educational backgrounds, their achievements, and the ladders they have successfully climbed to achieve their goals and ambitions. We hope you’ll enjoy reading the supplement, which begins on page 26, just as much as we enjoyed creating it.
This issue has grown massively over the last month, and our dedicated sections are well and truly jam-packed. Green Flooring provides updates on all the hard work that the likes of Carpet Recycling UK, Desso and The British Wool Marketing Board are doing not only to hit their sustainability targets, but go even further. I also had a chance to sit down with Ramon Arratia, Sustainability Director at Interface, to discuss the flooring industry’s quest for green floors, and why we all just need to be a bit more honest.
We also cover Soft Materials and Leisure & Sporting Venues, which includes a very frank comment piece by Mike Hamer, from Pallman, on a recent sports hall installation gone wrong.

That’s not forgetting that in this issue we also announce the winners of the Tomorrow’s Flooring Awards for 2014, so turn over to find out who scooped 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Make sure you also have a read of Why Buying British Counts, as Helen Rowberry, from Carpenter, discusses why British credentials have become such a powerful marketing tool.
Finally, make sure you check out our regular pages for the most important industry news and latest products and, don’t forget, if you want to contribute to our future issues or supplements, get in touch via email, or via our Twitter account, @TomoFlooring.
I hope you enjoy the issue! EDITOR’S VOICE
