Sponsored by The Fire Protection Association (FPA) THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT The Fire Protection Association (FPA) is the UK’s national fire safety
organisation with over sixty years of expertise in all aspects of fire prevention, protection and risk management.
The FPA specialises in multiple aspects of fire risk management including research, training, consultancy, membership, publications, risk surveying and auditing. Their products and services are designed to assist fire, security and safety professionals to achieve and maintain the very highest standards of fire safety management.
The FPA offers a broad range of training options, designed to suit all levels of experience and knowledge. For beginners, the five-day C05 Certificate in Applied Fire Risk Assessment is the most comprehensive route to reach fire risk assessment competency and certification. Alongside its wide range of training courses, the FPA also offers specialist consultancy services including fire risk assessments, sprinkler expertise, testing, risk surveying and insurer support services. The FPA has a nationwide team of highly experienced and qualified assessors and can offer a cost-effective, professional service that meets your legislative requirements.
The FPA also offers a range of membership options for both individuals and organisations. FPA membership ensures that: professionals working within the fire industry are kept up to date with the latest fire safety news; they can access a wealth of supporting resources to help professionals in their roles; receive favourable rates on training courses, purchases and consultancy services; access Fire Risk Management journal in print and online, and participate for free at member networking events and monthly webinars.

In early 2017, the FPA was proud to launch the Business and Property Protection Portal, a comprehensive tool for business resilience offering you the opportunity to embed your products or services into its intelligent framework. It combines business loss statistics with geographical risk factors to produce bespoke reporting of loss mitigation measures – just from the simple inputs of business type and postcode.
The FPA exhibits annually at FIREX International and provides a theatre of well-attended, topical presentations across the duration of the event.
FPA also runs its flagship event towards the end of each year, the Fire Sector Summit. For 2017 the FPA was excited to announce that ‘Good Morning Britain’ newsreader Charlotte Hawkins will act as chair of the event. Themes for the 2017 event include heritage, business continuity and active fire protection. A ministerial address from Brandon Lewis MP, the fire minister is also planned.
