The British Toilet Association has a simple mission: ‘to represent the interests and aspirations of providers, suppliers and users, of all types and to act as the catalyst for change in the pursuit of standards of excellence in all areas of ‘away from home’ toilet provision and management’. The Association comprises a membership of commercial companies related to washrooms, local authorities and also other organisations that have an interest in publicly available toilets. Many leading suppliers of toilets, toilet equipment, washroom services and facility management and contract cleaning companies are included. The BTA organises a major conference and supplier support exhibition each year and promotes the BTA Innovation Awards for New Products, Services and Efficiency Improvements. The Association provides advice and assistance on all toilet matters and offers a consultation service to providers and suppliers, which includes a comprehensive assessment of facilities currently provided with recommendations for improvements. Membership benefits are provided on the BTA website.

Established in 1968 the National Carpet Cleaners Association is the only UK trade body dedicated to the cleaning of carpets, upholstery and hard flooring. It is also widely recognised by homemakers, the media and government as the authoritative source of information and advice on all aspects of the industry.
There are currently more than 500 NCCA member companies throughout the UK, many offering additional services such as curtain cleaning, remedial work on carpet fittings, stain-resisting treatments, and restoration work after flood or fire.
The Association insists that applicants for membership undertake at least the basic NCCA training in carpet and upholstery cleaning, or equivalent, and reach the prescribed NCCA standard in the written test papers which follow.
NCCA members also work to the Association’s Code of Practice covering specifics such as fair pricing, complaints procedures and consumer protection, so potential customers can be assured of the highest standards in both service and workmanship.
