EVOLUTION NOT REVOLUTION
With the opening of its brand new site expected in 2017, the next 12 months are set to be significant for Essential Supply Products (esp). Here, we hear more about how the company is steadily rising to the top of the disposable tissue market.
Essential Supply Products (esp) Ltd are one of the leading independent manufacturers and convertors of disposable tissue products in the UK. Based in Malvern, Worcestershire, the company was formed in 1990 and introduced the Enigma brand of paper products to the industry.
Now in its 27th year, esp has gone from strength to strength, with an accelerated sales programme in place and a vision of continuous improvement, the company is firmly into the next stage of its growth plans.
The company’s move to Blackmore Park, expected for August 2017, will consolidate all operations, allowing esp to function with increased efficiency moving forward. The new facility will incorporate a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, increased storage and distribution area alongside purpose built offices, which will be the operational heart of esp and include a dedicated sales floor, an operations floor, meeting rooms, visitors centre, gym, shower rooms and a staff training space.
The new site will provide more than 4,000m² for production, around 10,500m² for the warehouse and just over 500m² of office and welfare facilities. Blackmore Park is a fantastic opportunity for the company, which is keen to continue its local success story with a real milestone.
Each year esp has grown and expanded its business while keeping its profile as an important local employer – 93% of staff come from the local county. Throughout the last few months, esp has recruited new members to its Sales Team, who cover all areas of the UK and Ireland, including two National Accounts Managers to facilitate the company’s growth into new markets.
The new markets and opportunities have been identified and operational changes will be put in place to allow esp to approach new customers as well as serving its current customer base. These opportunities include the introduction of new product ranges – as well as paper products, 2017 will see esp shift focus to include a wider range of dispensers. The first of these ranges – Origin – was showcased at ISSA/ INTERCLEAN Amsterdam in May 2016. Origin is an all-encompassing group of dispensers, which includes economically priced system dispensers within an entry level washroom range. To compliment Origin, esp launched a full range of Stainless Steel dispensers in October 2016.
Evolution by esp, available from May 2017, is a range of cost-in-use system dispensers which are both innovative and stylish while saving the end user a significant amount in usage. The dispensers use unique anti-streaming technology, which will reduce paper consumption by over 30%.
Elsewhere, esp has used its ISO accreditations, ISO9001:2008 Quality and ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management (achieved in 2014 and maintained each year) to introduce new processes which ensure the company continues to meet and exceed all expectations. As a founding member of the CHSA Soft Tissue Scheme, esp is proud to ensure all products are fully labelled with accurate length, widths and sheet counts as appropriate. With CHSA pushing to ‘Beat The Cheats’, esp is fully behind the latest drive and you’ll see its Sales Team sporting the CHSA lapel badges, which gives all esp customers and potential customers confidence they are purchasing a product that complies with specification.
The longstanding Enigma brand is still a prominent feature within esp and combined with the new Origin and Evolution ranges, the company are looking forward to raising the bar further in 2017, while remaining flexible and true to the esp mantra – making a great deal of difference.
