Editor’s Voice
Over the last few years, the importance of sustainability has finally hooked into
the public consciousness. Before the ‘Blue Planet’ effect rippled through society, highlighting the plight of marine life and the environment, it was easy for many
to dismiss ‘green’ efforts as expensive and impractical, as earlier solutions were expensive and hard to justify.
However, as everyone who has contributed to this magazine are proving, this is no longer the case. Innovation and cost reductions are now baked into
sustainable solutions, ensuring that switching over to them is the only sensible option. When there are tangible reductions in cost, no dip in quality, and your
customers are clamouring for you to be environmentally responsible, there’s no better time for your cleaning company to go green.
Inside this, our dedicated yearly exploration of sustainability in the cleaning industry, Delphis Eco’s Mark Jankovich talks to us about the importance of the newly introduced Recycled Plastic Rating (RPR) initiative, Robert Scott’s
Alastair Scott explains how they are focusing on developing more sustainable and environmentally considered products, and Diversey explain how to embed sustainability into your cleaning operations.
