CONTRACT CLEANING: WHAT'S NEW Prochem takes training to UAE

One of the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s largest FM companies, Cleanco, has engaged Prochem Europe to assist in staff training.

Premier FM provider Cleanco undertakes and manages major regional contracts including Royal Palaces, a Governmental airport, several mosques (including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque) and the UAE’s largest hospital, the Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

At the company’s request, Prochem created bespoke training programmes for the Cleanco team covering both carpet maintenance and fabric care.

Director of Sales & Training, Phil Jones, together with the input of Piyush Agrawal from local Prochem distributor VR5, undertook the training for a number of Cleanco senior managers and supervisors at the company’s HQ in Dubai.

Phil commented: “Teams were especially interested in learning more about carpet styles. Some of the carpets in the palaces and mosques are of the highest quality and real benefit was to be found in learning more about dry compound cleaning systems, and how these can avoid colour bleed or even shrinkage.”

With coffee and food spills being consistent issues for their staff, stain removal training was also popular with Cleanco delegates. Phil was later taken to some Cleanco contracts to demonstrate Prochem products and discuss with the in- house cleaning teams how to get the best results.

Phil concluded: “Overall, the training trip was a great success and Cleanco are investigating arranging another

series of sessions to further up-skill their staff.” www.prochem.co.uk www.cleancodubai.com/facility-management/
