European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards 2024:Open for entries
As we welcome in a New Year, Michelle Marshall, Editor of the European Cleaning Journal and the Awards’ founder, is preparing to welcome new nominations for the 2024 European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards.
There are no January blues here at the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards, as we’re gearing up for the seventh annual event to celebrate the achievements of the professional cleaning and hygiene sector.
This month, we will once again open for entries, calling for the industry’s service providers, manufacturers and distributors to showcase their successes. After a record year for nominations in 2023, we cannot wait to see what the sector has to share with us, as the event continues to get bigger and better each year.
The 2023 event, held in Dublin, was hailed as the most successful to date, bringing together industry leaders and innovators to recognise the immense talent of the sector. As anticipation for the 2024 awards builds, our judges eagerly await the opportunity to see entries that will undoubtedly redefine the standards of excellence in the cleaning and hygiene industry.
Once again, the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards offers a diverse range of categories designed to recognise success and reward excellence across the European cleaning industry. This year, we’re looking for best practice examples in the following 10 disciplines:
• Start-up business of the year • Best use of smart solutions by service providers •
Investment in training
• Excellence in client/contractor partnerships • Sustainability – best practice • Commitment to diversity in the workforce • Best initiative raising the profile of the cleaning sector • Technological innovation of the year • Leader of the year • Rising star award
Entries for these categories will close in spring, giving participants ample time to put forth their best work for consideration. The finalists will be revealed in the summer and winners will be unveiled at the awards ceremony and gala dinner, set to take place on 3 October in Lisbon.
The logistics
The entry form is on our website and is simple to complete. You need to tell us why you think you are award winning, and give us a 500 word summary of your achievement. We

also accept six pages of supporting info, so get those case studies and stats in order.
We have 10 categories to choose from and you can enter as many as you like – just remember that only one entry can be submitted for a maximum of two categories. If you want to go for a few more categories, we will need a fresh entry.
Save the date
Even if you’re not planning on submitting an entry this year, make sure you save the date for our Lisbon event.
The European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards not only celebrate the accomplishments of the industry, but also foster a spirit of collaboration and innovation. The awards evening serves as a platform for professionals to exchange knowledge, driving the sector forward. From making strides towards more diverse workplaces to introducing smart solutions to boost efficiency, it’s always fantastic to hear about the progressive conversations that take place throughout the night.
It's also a fantastic networking event and, while there may be competing businesses in the room, we find this healthy competition raises standards and boosts the desire to break new ground. It is such a valuable opportunity for anyone in the cleaning and hygiene sector to get involved and expand their network, whilst raising a glass to our finalists and winners.
So, as the New Year gets underway, we look forward to hearing from anyone wanting to get involved in the 2024 campaign. Find out more at the website below.
