Editor’s Voice There’s a lot to be optimistic about in 2024, despite a chilly start to the year. With big
trade shows like the Manchester Cleaning Show and Interclean Amsterdam coming in the next few months, we’re all looking forward to all the new innovations and technical breakthroughs the industry will be bringing to both of these shows and beyond.
There’s also the Level 2 Cleaning Hygiene Operative Apprenticeship, which finally launched on New Year’s Day. We’ve got more details inside about the ways cleaning
sector firms can find out more and learn about how they can gift unused Apprenticeship Levy funds to allow other industry apprentices to be supported.
In this January 2024 issue of Tomorrow’s Cleaning, we’ve got a special look at Pest Control, with the British Pest Control Association’s Natalie Bungay highlighting that cleaners can play a key role in protecting public health, as they’re likely the first ones to
spot if a client is suffering a rodent infestation – and how they can react. We learn from Beaver Pest Control how technology like digital monitoring is helping to improve pest
management on sites, and Shield Pest Control’s Daniel Steward explains why using a pest control company is essential for commercial cleaning companies.
In our Contract Cleaning section, we learn about the leading role that Principle Cleaning Services plays at Television City, and find out how one of the United Arab Emirates’ largest FM companies, Cleanco, is working with Prochem Europe to assist with staff training. Finally, in our Food Safety and Steam Cleaning focus, Essity’s Jeremy Bennett
identifies ‘time thieves’ in a bid to improve efficiency and enhance hygiene in the kitchen, while OspreyDeepclean tells us about the benefits of dry steam technology in food production environments.
Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you enjoy the issue!
