In order to accurately prepare a work- loading plan for a contract cleaning tender, there are several fundamental elements which need to be assessed.


Building plans


must be reviewed, usually in conjunction with a physical site assessment in order to identify any cleaning tasks which may not be apparent on the plans, and determine areas where cleaning is impractical. Every site will contain variables which can have an effect on standard productivity rates and therefore an impact on final costings.


From this initial step, a schedule can be put together which details the division of cleaning hours for the building considering the different cleaning elements and tasks and their effects on the hours needed.


Further, the costs for supervision have to be estimated. Dependant on the size and scope of the contract and


the number of cleaning operatives needed, one or more supervisors may have to be employed to ensure the smooth running of the cleaning service and to provide a good contractor to client relationship.

renewed interest The Manchester Cleaning Show 2020 looks set to be bigger and better than ever, with early registration figures higher than at the same stage last time.


The north of England’s largest biennial cleaning and hygiene event returns to Event City in Trafford, Greater Manchester, on 25 and 26 March 2020 and is free for delegates to attend.


Featuring national and international exhibitors and an exciting conference programme of talks by leading industry figures and experts, previous shows have attracted over 2000 visitors who take advantage of the opportunity to meet with suppliers, make new connections and gain knowledge about the key challenges affecting the industry.


Over 650 people from the cleaning, waste management and FM sectors have already registered for next year’s show. Exhibitor space is also being snapped up quickly.


Innovation will be an important theme of the 2020 show, with exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services for healthcare, education, hospitality, entertainment, manufacturing, government and care home facilities. The show’s full conference programme will be revealed in January 2020.
