EDITOR’S VOICE Hello and welcome to the November issue of TCF.
In this issue we’re looking back at the Flooring Show’s return in September. We hear from key exhibitors on what makes it a must-attend event for the industry and find out about some of the exciting new launches unveiled at the show.
This year, more than any other, it was exhilarating to walk around the exhibition centre – not only for the vibrant atmosphere but also because of all of the colour on show. It seems like after the tough 18 months we’ve all been through, consumers are ready to banish the greige and embrace bold bright tones. And this is something that manufacturers have tapped into with an array of new carpets in rich blues, greens and even golds.
It is a proven fact that colour and design have a psychological impact on how we feel so it’s only natural that people would want to surround themselves with materials and shades that make them feel good. And nowhere is this more important than in healthcare design. This month we take a look at how Forbo has helped to create a fun beach theme for children at a hospital in Devon and hear from Altro on designing for dementia.
As well as all of this, we shine the spotlight on levelling compounds, and flooring in the workplace.
I hope you enjoy the issue. Sarah Robinson, Editor COVER STORY 14
