KARNDEAN DESIGNFLOORING

Pop up exhibition located South of St John’s Gate on the corner of Briset Steet and St John’s Lane.

Luxury vinyl flooring specialist, Karndean Designflooring is returning to Clerkenwell Design Week for its 8th consecutive year to mark its 45th anniversary.

Visitors will take a step back in time with Karndean’s replica vintage Morris Minor van based on the original driven back in 1973 when the business first started in the West Midlands. It has since grown to a global brand and household name supplying luxury vinyl flooring throughout the UK, USA, Australia and Canada.

Located near St John’s Gate, Karndean’s iconic van will also open as a pop up exhibition presenting ‘then and now’ to demonstrate its innovative vinyl flooring designs for commercial spaces. The display will feature some of Karndean’s most intriguing and intricate ranges including brand new designs joining its contemporary Knight Tile and Opus collections.

It will include new Scandinavian Pine, limed oak, limestone and mixed material designs with a unique shattered concrete- effect to name but a few.

“CDW always has such a buzz about it and the streets come alive with show-stopping exhibitions and installations,” commented Paul Barratt, Managing Director of Karndean Designflooring.

As well as taking to the bustling streets of Clerkenwell throughout CDW2018, Karndean also plans to host its exclusive Sundowner event at Lazybones on Cowcross Street on Wednesday 23rd May. Inviting friends from the world of interior design, architecture and construction, the event will mark Karndean’s birthday celebrations and offer guests a first look at new designs. FORBO Forbo Showroom, 79 St John Street, EC1M 4NR

Following the installation of a new state of the art digital printer, the ink penetration of Forbo’s Flotex range has greatly increased, resulting in an enhanced vibrancy and depth to the colour palette and designs available. As such, during CDW it will be showcasing the various ranges within its Flotex portfolio.

The showroom will have an exciting Flotex makeover featuring a large zebra print art installation framing the window, which will spill onto the pavement making a flocked statement on the streets of London.

Designed by Mari Stassen, Founder of Blank Canvas, the space will be transformed into a unique Flotex art gallery experience and will feature its very own flocking station, where visitors can choose from a variety of quirky items that will undergo the art of flocking before their very eyes. The resultant keepsake will then be forever theirs – a reminder of their flocking lovely time at this year’s festival.

TARKETT-DESSO Tarkett-DESSO Showroom, 23-25 Great Sutton Street

Tarkett and DESSO are inviting festival-goers to Meet The Future Human at Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) 2018.

Tarkett is enticing visitors with a combination of thought provoking debate, hands-on workshops, live music and sneak previews of new products. The flooring specialist’s showroom was the fifth most visited during last year’s event and the 2018 programme should ensure it remains one of this year’s most hotly anticipated destinations.

The company is also using the design festival as a platform to unveil and discuss the increasing convergence of the home and the workplace by introducing a new framework for thinking about how we work today - and in the future.
