NEW PLANEX HR MAXI EXTENDS MAPEI SMOOTHING RANGE
Mapei has introduced Planex HR Maxi to its range of self-levelling/ smoothing compounds. Rapid-drying and moisture-resistant, the new mortar is designed to level new and existing substrates, both indoors and outdoors, eliminating thickness variations from 3 to 30mm. It can be used to prepare surfaces before installation of all types of flooring, including ceramic tiles, resilient and textile flooring.
Ideal for areas subject to static and dynamic loads – from industrial or retail spaces to healthcare environments – Planex HR Maxi benefits from a specially developed formulation with exceptional resistance to moisture; this makes it particularly suitable for external applications and substrates that are not fully dry or that contain elevated levels of residual moisture.
The mortar also offers high compressive and flexural strength and is resistant to shrinkage, cracking, indentation and abrasion. Additionally, it features a very low VOC formulation with EMICODE EC1 Plus certification, helping to ensure a safe application environment.
Once mixed with water, Planex HR Maxi forms a rapid-drying, free-flowing compound with excellent workability and strong adhesion to the substrate. It can be applied manually or by automatic pressure pump over distances exceeding 100 metres. Ceramic tiles can be installed after just three hours, while resilient and wood flooring can be laid after 24 hours. In light-duty applications, the mortar can also be left exposed in areas subject to light foot traffic.
