ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
TrimAce by Floor Trim Systems Ltd is an innovative floor trim which allows floors to expand and contract without the need for bonding or fixing unlike mastic, silicone, cork and cover trims or strips. This expansion joint device is suitable for wherever an expansion gap is required and can be used between many interfaces such as timber/ stone, timber/carpet or against solid elements including walls, mullions and partition glazing. It can also be shaped to fit around curved rooms and glazing unlike beading.

Floor Trim Systems Ltd is a member of the IDL group, based in Surrey. The award-winning company provides engineering solutions to the flooring industry across the UK and works with leading commercial and residential contractors and suppliers.
Although intended for new projects, TrimAce can be retrofitted to existing floors. It is manufactured in the UK and is usually made of two pieces of aluminium filled with absorbing foam so it can compress as the floor moves. This unique device is available in a wide range of materials and colours and is offered in different depths to suit the most commonly specified timber flooring products.
This movement joint is simply cut to size with a Hacksaw and pushed into a rebate which can be done by a floor fitter, not only saving time but also the number of subcontractors on a site. In addition, it can be installed as an edge or joint finishing trim in noncritical connections and if needed it can be taken out, reused, replaced or recoated without having to remove the flooring, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

Dan Galleni, senior design manager for Overbury, used TrimAce in the fit out of the Brunel building in London.
