Essity is a global hygiene company operating in 150 countries under market-leading brands including Tork and Tena. Tork offers a wide range of cleaning and hand hygiene products including cloths and wipers, hand towels, toilet paper and soaps. The company is dedicated to coming up with innovations that make life easier for its customers and stakeholders.

The world has changed dramatically in 12 months – and businesses face huge challenges re-opening after lockdowns.

As a leading global hygiene company, Tork manufacturer Essity is supporting businesses with a one-stop resource hub that helps companies to attain new standards of hygiene.

The ‘Secure the new hygiene standard’ website provides insights into how businesses can re-open safely during the global coronavirus pandemic. A free downloadable Back to Business toolkit is available via the site and includes a series of checklists and prompts. Posters and signage reminding people to wear a mask and keep two metres away from one another can be printed out and used in customers’ own facilities.

All materials stress the importance of carrying out optimum hand hygiene, adhering to one-way systems and keeping to social-distancing requirements. Other resources include a white paper, infographics and educational videos detailing how hygienic solutions such as paper towels, skincare products and tissue systems can help contribute to a cleaner, safer facility.

Website visitors can also access Safe at Work toolkits containing tips, guides and information aimed at a variety of businesses including offices, colleges, healthcare and hospitality venues.

Essity’s Regional Brand Activation Manager, Amelia Baker, said: “Public spaces are viewed with higher hygiene concerns than ever before. In order to move forward we have had to create a ‘new normal’ and establish a new hygiene standard to help people to feel safe. And while this standard will be everyone’s responsibility to maintain, it will require businesses to secure.”

The toolkit also provides tips on washrooms systems that can help enhance hygiene. These include easy-to-use soap dispensers and hand towels in a one-at-a-time dispensing format. Paper towels are advised because they can act as a barrier between the washroom visitor and fixtures such as door handles and light switches.

It also advises the provision of facial tissues in washrooms since these provide washroom users with an alternative to touching their faces with their hands.
