UPVC SANITISATION SERVICE VPS Property Solutions
Floods and fires can cause significant damage, and properties frequently require window and door replacement services, where the fittings are affected and damaged beyond economical repair. Flood debris, mud, dirt, grime and soot on uPVC frames not only look unsightly but can affect their finish and moving parts so that, until now, a total replacement has often been the only option, costing time and expense.
VPS Property Solutions has developed a full sanitisation service for uPVC windows, doors and conservatories that have sustained fire or water damage. Working with customer service managers and clients, they sought a solution to limit indemnity spend in returning flood-hit properties back to normal. Successful pilot trials demonstrated a 50% or greater cut in the costs of insurance repairs.
The process uses specialist cleaning chemicals on each aperture, the deglazing and reglazing of units, and the replacement of beads, gaskets and ancillaries. A full glazing risk assessment is also undertaken, in line with British Standard BS6262. Where the glazing does not comply, the property is reglazed using specified safety glass.
Following the success of the pilot scheme, VPS introduced the sanitisation service for uPVC frames for insurance customers nationwide. New material, technologies and repair techniques that have been developed in recent years means that repairs to uPVC windows are not only possible but are often completely invisible and return the products to their pre-incident condition.

VALET BATTERY UPRIGHT Truvox International
Cleaning teams can now ‘cut the cord’ and vacuum more quietly and productively following the arrival of the UK’s first cordless commercial vacuum cleaner.
The award-winning Valet Battery Upright (VBU) is a light yet powerful upright vacuum, designed for maximum productivity.
Built to Truvox International’s robust standards, the Valet Battery Upright weighs only 5kg. A convenient carry handle makes it easy to transport between cleaning jobs. Ideal for daytime cleaning, the machine works quietly and safely around people and obstacles with no risk of trips or snagging – or interruptions to switch power sockets.
Powered by a lithium ion battery, the VBU provides more than 60 minutes’ continuous runtime. A battery level indicator ensures the user knows when their machine will need recharging. A full recharge takes no more than 2.5 hours. The battery delivers 312W of vacuum motor power and a 3,000rpm brush speed.
The vacuum floats evenly over all flooring surfaces thanks to a self- adjusting nozzle, while a squeegee improves cleaning results on hard floors. Performance and productivity also benefit from an edge cleaning feature and full suction when the VBU is laid flat to clean under beds and furniture.
High filtration is provided by a HEPA 13 media bag. Replacing the dust bag is simple. The compartment unzips and the bag is automatically sealed as it’s pulled from the bag holder. Support videos on the Truvox website guide users on operation and maintenance of the VBU.
