MI-CLOTH/MI-ROLL Robert Scott
As one of the first companies, nearly 20 years ago, to introduce microfibre into its range of professional janitorial cleaning cloths and mops, Robert Scott & Sons Ltd has always remained at the forefront with regard to the development of the use of this deep cleaning fibre.
Alastair Scott, sales and Marketing Director at Robert Scott, said: “The introduction of the Mi-Cloth and Mi-Roll disposable microfibre cloths is another demonstration of listening to customer demand and then providing the answer – in this case helping to solve the problem of cross contamination in care homes, hospitals, restaurants and hotels.
“The low unit price of both Mi-Cloth and Mi-Roll make them truly disposable and with the cleaning properties of microfibre, but without the need for regular laundering to remove dirt and grease. In short they are a highly effective cleaning cloth designed to be disposed of quickly and easily after use preventing cross contamination and removing the need for costly laundry facilities and chemicals.”
Both Mi-Cloth and Mi-Roll are made from 100% low-linting microfibre. They are strong, hardworking cloths able to be used with minimal amounts of water and without the need for chemicals. These super soft cloths are suitable and strong enough for hypochlorite solutions and are colour coded to help with cross contamination issues. Mi-Cloth and Mi-Roll can be used either damp for the cleaning of surfaces or worktops or dry for smear-free finishes such as stainless steel, glass or simple dusting.
Mi-Cloth comes in packs of 50 and the Mi-Roll contains 250 sheets which can be used in dispensers, stored and carried on trolleys or kept on worktop surfaces.

MICROFIBRE LIGHT Chicopee
Today’s cleaning professionals face a number of challenges, not least achieving an effective clean to halt the potential spread of infection.
In hospitals and healthcare facilities, a rigorous cleaning routine will help prevent the transmission of bacteria and protect patients from harmful germs at a time when their immune systems are at their most vulnerable.
From an estimated four million cases of hospital acquired infections (HAIs) a year in Europe alone, 20% are deemed to be preventable through an effective cleaning protocol. Some viruses, such as the
E.Coli bacteria, can survive the laundering process while staphylococcal infections – which cause MRSA – have been found to live for up to three weeks on cleaning cloths.
Independent research has shown that traditional cloths can spread up to one third of bacteria onto the next surface to be cleaned. This is because bacteria is moved around on the surface rather than picked up and removed.
Chicopee’s Microfibre Light cloth, however, collects then traps 99.99% of microbes, eradicating the danger of cross-contamination. Made from 100% microfibre, this high-quality cloth delivers a superior clean while removing potentially harmful bacteria from surfaces.
There is no need for professionals to spend time laundering as the cloth is designed for short-term use, and is simply discarded when a task is complete. This method of ‘mechanical’ cleaning also means no chemicals are required in the cleaning process.
The cloth is also perfect for use throughout the facilities management sector, delivering superior and streak-free clean whilst reducing labour time and improving hygiene standards.
