Substantial growth for ICE Cleaning
ICE Cleaning has expanded its management team with several new senior appointments to supports its recent business growth.
Three new positions – Operations Manager, Sales Manager and Financial Controller – have been created in order to support ICE Cleaning’s Leadership Team in providing its 2000-strong client base with the highest possible standards in service and support.
The recent appointments complete a critical tier of management for ICE Cleaning, which will provide a robust structure to underpin the business’ continued growth over the next two to three years.
New strategy for healthcare safety and
patient recovery ISS Healthcare has commissioned a project that will take a scientific and behavioural approach to healthcare cleaning and drive the UK’s healthcare journey.
ISS worked closely with NHS England and NHS Improvement in the development of the recently published National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. In support of the Standards, the new ISS healthcare strategy is based on using science to validate the cleaning process which will in turn build confidence throughout the NHS, support shorter patient stays, and ultimately provide a safe clinical environment to help save lives, not just during the COVID pandemic but beyond.
United Center cleans up with GBAC STAR
The United Center in Chicago, the largest arena in the United States, has reached another milestone with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, by achieving GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation.
Additional facilities to earn the accreditation for cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention include Boston Symphony Hall in Boston, MA; Atlanta Convention Center at AmericasMart in Atlanta, GA; LOTTE Hotel Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX; Port Discovery Children’s Museum in Baltimore, MD; Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto, Canada; and numerous other hotels and facilities around the globe.
The United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks, hosts more than 200 events each year and has welcomed over 60m guests since its opening in 1994. Meanwhile, Boston Symphony Hall is a historic concert hall built in 1900, and is home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Featuring an organ that is more than 70 years old, replicas of Greek and Roman statues, and stunning architecture, the building is considered one of the top concert halls in the world.

Collette Sweeney, Head of Healthcare Cleaning at ISS, explained: “The application of cleaning science and the impact of behaviour is intrinsically linked to environmental infection control. The purpose of the project is to use science to determine the efficacy and appropriateness of the healthcare cleaning process to deliver evidence-based safe systems of cleaning.”
The successful delivery of this project centres on a collaborative approach with the NHS, in particular the hospital the research and development team are working with. Heather Cracknell, ISS Healthcare Cleaning SME, stated: “There has never been a better time to demonstrate not just being visibly clean, but clinically clean.”
