Busy Bees started up as a Domestic Cleaning business to work around Amy and Caron’s children’s school hours, but they didn’t expect it to grow so much. They now employ a workforce of 61 members of staff.
Over the years, Busy Bees has incorporated many different services to stand out from competitors, such as Domestic Cleaning, Commercial Cleaning, Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning, Laundry services, Garden Maintenance, Pressure Washing, Pesticide, Trauma, Environmental Cleaning and House and Garden clearance.
Company Profile
Established in 1998 by Amy Welch and Caron Henwood, friends since the age of nine, Busy Bees started with only £600 of personal funds to set the business up with the initial business plan, working from Amy’s dining room and Caron’s Garage. Originally a domestic cleaning business working around Amy and Caron’s children’s school hours, they now employ 61 members of staff.
By covering such a range, it has allowed Busy Bees to create their own niche in the market, being the only local company that can offer these services under one roof. It’s a unique selling point that Busy Bees offers customers the facility of making one telephone call to obtain any of many different services.
Busy Bees class an ‘Environmental Clean’ as dealing with any kind of potentially harmful threat to either people and/or the environment they live in. For example, de-contaminating crime and trauma scenes, localised sharps sweeps, to large scale bio-hazardous waste removal and disposal, infection control and the removal of human/animal waste, through to fumigation.
Trauma scenes can be defined as any clean-up involving human and animal bodily fluids usually because of unattended natural death, homicides or suicides. Busy Bees has trained staff through the National Association of Crime Scene Cleaners, certified in the principles of infection control.
