LowCO2t range by Cromwell Polythene

ABOUT THIS RANGE...

There is a growing demand for responsible products which not only meet recycling challenges, but also help to combat climate change.

Cromwell Polythene’s LowCO2t range of recycling sacks and bags use less material to achieve the same performance standards as conventional versions. This offers customers a more resource- efficient and environmentally responsible alternative to some of the bigger, bulkier products in the marketplace.

Company Profile

Cromwell Polythene provides sacks, bags and liners for the capture and containment of resources for recycling, or storage and collection of waste for treatment, and/or disposal. These include recycling sacks for dry recyclables; compostable sacks and liners for food and organic waste; kerbside recycling bags; reusable recycling bags; personal protective equipment; and made-to-order products.

Their lightweight nature helps to reduce both the volume of plastic and the energy used in manufacturing, and minimises greenhouse gas emissions in transportation through the supply chain. They are packaged in smaller cartons too, which means they take up less space, making transport and storage more efficient.

The range was extended during 2019 to incorporate green, red, blue, and yellow sacks, which are a great visual reminder to help in the separation of different materials for recycling.

Contrary to popular belief, plastic has a very resource-efficient profile. Lightweight plastic products, including bin liners, make a huge difference to the effectiveness of the cleaning industry. Responsibly produced plastic packaging can have a high recycled content (up to 100%) and can be reprocessed many times, not only saving virgin material but associated energy as well. Where recycling is not practical, the energy can be recovered at an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility.

The range holds the Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) certification mark for plastic refuse sacks. This gives end users certainty that they meet quality assurance standards, are ‘fit for purpose’ and that they are getting what they paid for, including minimum net weight and the number of sacks in the pack.
