KEMPER SYSTEM IS BIG NAME ON
CAMPUS Waterproofing specialist, Kemper System, has helped Anglia Ruskin University transform a former office block into a prestigious faculty building thanks to its Stratex warm roof and Kemperol V210 cold liquid- applied waterproofing systems.
Serving 30,000 students across three campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough, Anglia Ruskin University is the largest provider of nursery and midwifery training in the East of England and also runs Higher Education courses at the University of Peterborough. The University bought ‘Guild House’ as the new home for its Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education, refurbishing the building throughout before turning its attention to the largely failing bituminous felt roof. Roofing contractor, Mells Roofing, stripped back the two failing roofs on Guild House’s East and West Buildings and cleaned the existing felt roof substrate on the South Building to prepare it for installation of the warm roof system. The installation team laid a Kempershield vapour control layer on all three roofs before beginning installation of Kemper System’s Kempertherm insulation board. Although Kemperol V210 is impervious to standing water, a tapered insulation board was chosen to create a slight pitch on the existing flat roofs to help with water drainage and, once this had been primed, the installation team applied the Kemperol V210 liquid membrane. Laid in a single process, the V210 resin saturates a tear-resistant reinforcement fleece and cures to provide a seamless monolithic membrane that is permanently elastic, tough, UV resistant, and doesn’t require any additional protective layers.

Storm Diamond Pads are available in 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 grades. The pads produce optimum results on resin floor surfaces, epoxy, terrazzo, marble, natural stone and concrete. More recently, through extensive trails, the finer 1500 and 3000 grade pads have been proven to effectively maintain vinyl – where it was previously thought that the process would prove too harsh.
