ALL ABOUT AGILITY
With future releases set for the second half of this year, SoftSols’ CAFM software, Agility, is now in its fifth edition. We find out more about what Agility has to offer.
This year sees SoftSols Group celebrating their 30th Anniversary, and to celebrate, they’ve just launched version 5 of their CAFM and CMMS software, Agility. The new release has seen some significant enhancements that are intended to greatly benefit those operating and managing large and complex facilities.
The new Asset Maps feature allows drawings of entire facilities, sites, rooms, production areas or individual equipment to be used within Agility, to give employees and contractors a quick and easy visual reference to help connect work orders and spare parts.
Peter Smith, SoftSols Product Management Director, commented: “Today’s FMs have such a wide scope of work and responsibility; typically managing a complex group of employees and contractors to make sure their facility runs smoothly. With the new Asset Maps feature in Agility, we are building in a significant benefit by giving users a visual reference that makes tasks much easier to understand. So, regardless of a user’s past experience in a facility, they can quickly reference where a piece of equipment is and what it looks like, helping to speed up recognition and save time on job completion.”
To serve the needs of roaming and field-based workers, SoftSols is increasingly providing a range of mobile solutions, bringing Agility to users via handhelds and tablets.

SoftSols provide three options of Agility on the move: directly through internet browsers on a wide range of devices, which gives users access to the full feature-rich Agility; or for those operating remotely and sometimes offline, Agility can be deployed in the form of Mobile Expert, directly on devices running Windows Mobile; or to smartphone and tablet users using Android with the ALite product.
Mobile Expert and ALite allow help desk and maintenance requests to be deployed directly in the hands of the people on the ground, reducing paperwork and speeding up completion times, helping service- level agreements to be achieved.

with customers who operate in a complicated environment with contractors, site-based roaming employees and field-based staff covering multiple sites,” said David Hipkin, Group Managing Director. “Agility is all about bringing efficiencies, savings in time and
money and simplifying processes. We have a dedicated and highly skilled Implementation Team who have a huge knowledge base of other systems such as SAP, Sage and BMS/SCADA systems and are able to integrate them to Agility with deployment out to mobile workers; bringing everything together as one coherent, streamlined system.”
David continued: “We have two further releases of Agility scheduled for the second half of 2013, which we are really excited about. Agility version 6 sees additional features being introduced to our Android products and version 7 sees a significant new feature of Resource Booking being added to our standard Agility product. We have developed this with input from our service and facilities customers so this is yet another way we can bring savings and efficiencies to this ever evolving sector.”
