from thinking about doing things differently. Of course, we’re implementing it gradually with the management team then rolling it out to operations and office staff.

You mention restructuring and your position as MD. What has that meant for the

HOWARD RIDES FOR MND Howard is undertaking a 300

mile bike ride from Newcastle to London, and plans to do it in just 24 hours. Howard is riding to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and is riding in the name of his best friend, who has been diagnosed with the disease.

Howard commented: “This is a tough disease for those who suffer it. It is also a disease that receives significantly less publicity and donations than the larger charities associated with more common diseases. It’s personal to me, though, as my best friend has been diagnosed with the disease. I would like to do what I can to help him and all those others who need care and patience.”

field will have the same access to information as I do. In time, we’re hoping to introduce suppliers to the system so that they can see the business we’re doing with them. We’ve got nothing to hide so we want to be transparent with everyone.

rest of the team? Julian is now CEO and is concentrating on the operations side of the business. My role, which focuses on day to day management of the business, will free him up to focus on that. The restructuring has also meant that our operations team now specify the solution for every job. We have a great team of dedicated people who are willing to take on new challenges with real commitment and they are actively involved in the new processes.

Tell me about the new

PU logo system? We work closely with Dr Schutz and, in addition to being an installer of their PU systems, we are delighted to be their training partner in the UK. We recently introduced into Träffik a new system that allows logos, designs and safety signage to be encapsulated into the floor surface. The new system actually holds the graphic in the PU so there’s no lip to the graphic. It’s permanent and a bit like a skin transfer.

And I hear you’ve developed another new product for the

retail sector? Yes. We work with a lot of retail clients and one of their biggest problems is time and store closure. We’re introducing a new PU system that offers exceptional opportunities for the retail sector as it allows the fast and effective application of a new floor surface. The system has UV activators in it, which means you can cure it with UV lamps immediately after drying so that you can have a brand new floor installed overnight.
