wsma middle level state honors music project
The purpose of the Middle Level State Honors Music Project is to:
• Challenge musically accom- plished Wisconsin students to share their dedication to a high level of musical perfor- mance.
• Provide opportunities for families, schools and com- munities to share pride in the efforts and accomplishments of their students.
• Offer models of leadership and excellence for music education and music perfor- mance.
In addition, the Middle Level State Honors Music Project benefits par- ticipating students, schools, school music programs, families and music teachers. Teachers, parents and pri- vate studio teachers are encouraged to register their middle level musi- cians to audition for this rewarding performance opportunity. Online registration opened on December 7 and will close on February 3, 2023. Auditions will be held in late March and April in Appleton, Dousman (Kettle Moraine), Eau Claire, La Crosse, Sun Prairie and Wausau. Audition requirements, a project timeline and additional information can be found at
www.wsmamusic. org/ml_honors.
Nationally recognized conductors Dr. Richard Mark Heidel (band), Dr. Brett Robison (choir) and Dr. Demondrea Thurman (orchestra) will be leading the WSMA Middle Level State Honors ensembles for 2023.
