Of those at- tendees, 47 were attending for the first time to become a registered WSMA adjudicator.

x Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin

Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin is a collection of educational media resources for general music programs serving grades 4-8. The collection includes video interviews with Wisconsin musicians, performances, audio files, and educator engagement guides designed to help activate the media with learners. Music skills, cross-curricular resources, multiple lesson ideas, and WMEA and DPI standards are provided in each lesson.

Present lessons include:

• Wade Fernandez - Menominee Indian musician from Keshena focusing on nature and cultural roots

• Maa Vue - Hmong musician and performer from Wausau emphasizing Hmong culture, family and language

• Sistastrings - African American music educators and performers from Mil- waukee providing ways to understand relationships

• Richard Hildner Armacanqui & Juan Tomás Martínez - Latinx performers from Madison with an eye on improvisation and being a child once again

New lessons are being added to the series including Indian Carnatic music and bluegrass. Two additional lessons are also in the works. Watch for information on their release this spring!

Celebrate the successes of Re/sound performers:

• Sistastrings is now in Nashville and has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Con- certs, toured with Brandi Carlile, and performed with Lockeland Strings.

• Maa Vue, previously featured on PBS Wisconsin’s Wisconsin Life, has a new album out from her own record label, Yellow Diamond Records. It features “Tu Moo” and it’s receiving rave reviews.
