Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin


Join WSMA and PBS Wisconsin in celebrating cultural diversity through the resources and curriculum writers of Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin.


Hmong Culture and Music Resources – February 20: 9:00–11:00 a.m.


Katherine Miller and Lucy Wrenn share ideas and resources to expand you and your students’ Hmong cultural experiences. Lesson planning ideas as well as resources for your middle school classroom will be shared during this virtual workshop. Register here for this FREE workshop.


Latinx Curriculum and Lesson Planning – March 6: 9:00–11:00 a.m.


Schuyler Pietz guides educators through Latinx resources in the Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin project. Additional ideas on lesson planning, content, and curricular connections will be included. Register here for this FREE virtual workshop.

Comprehensive Musicianship Through Performance (CMP) Winter Workshop The CMP committee is hosting their winter workshop February 12 and 13. Friday’s session will go from 5:00–7:00 p.m. and Saturday’s from 8:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. Participants will explore points of the model (selection, analysis, strategies, outcomes, and assessment) and gain insight and direction for plans to use in their classroom. Educator workshops are offered by both WMEA and WSMA throughout the year. Great effort is made to provide learning op- portunities on a variety of topics at various grade levels and with various performing groups; with diversity and cultural awareness; and with instrument and technology training to just name a few. Classroom Workshops


WSMA is excited to offer opportunities for you and your stu- dents to work with composers throughout the state of Wisconsin. Each opportunity provides direct interaction with composers on a variety of topics and skills appropriate for elementary through high school students. As an educator, you choose what category, skills, time allotted, and which format work best for you and your students.
