Stainless steel transfer hatches for controlled environments
Teknomek has recently announced a new partnership with Dortek, enabling the company to offer customers a high- performance range of stainless steel transfer hatches designed specifically for controlled laboratory and cleanroom environments. These robust hatches support process integrity by minimising the risk of airborne or particulate transfer, thanks to mechanical interlocking doors that physically prevent both doors being opened at the same time.
Each unit is made to order, reflecting Teknomek’s continued commitment to uncompromising hygienic design. The hatches arrive fully welded rather than
flat-packed, with radiused corners for easy cleaning. A dual-wall construction discreetly incorporates utilities and control systems to maintain a sleek, hygienic finish.
For facilities requiring elevated protection, a fire-rated model is also available. Tested to BS EN1634-1 + A1:2018 for up to 120 minutes, it features highly resilient Pyroguard fire glass.

Laboratory-grade gas taps for precision gas control
Teknomek is pleased to expand its laboratory offering with the introduction of the new Arboles deck- and wall-mounted gas taps designed specifically for educational, research and industrial laboratories.
Available in both two-way and four-way configurations, the Arboles taps feature either high-visibility drop-lever or push-turn designs to provide safe, accurate and immediate gas control for Bunsen burners or other gas-driven applications. The brass bodies are coated in durable white Rilsan for robust corrosion resistance and easy cleaning making them ideal for hygiene-critical lab environments.
Each unit comes with an anti-rotation base with location pin for a stable, long-lasting fit and DIN13792 compliance for the safe use of both natural & LPG gas.
This expansion underlines Teknomek’s commitment to delivering comprehensive, high-quality lab solutions. For more information, visit the Teknomek website or contact their knowledgeable team on 01603 788 833.

Upgraded mobile safety steps meet BS EN
131-7 standard Teknomek has launched an upgraded range of mobile safety steps independently tested to BSEN131-7, the recognised European standard for mobile ladders with a platform. The range offers enhanced stability, durability and user protection for hygiene-critical environments, including laboratories, cleanrooms and regulated manufacturing facilities.
Testing was carried out by the BSI on the five- step model, the most demanding configuration within the range. It confirmed a maximum load capacity of 150 kg, alongside structural strength, improved stability from a widened leg design, validated slip resistance using checkerplate steps and platform, and robust guardrail and handrail performance, including a new intermediate safety rail.
Manufactured in the UK from 304L-grade stainless steel, the steps are designed to withstand rigorous cleaning regimes. To support safe positioning, they have two rear fixed castors and a front retractable swivel- castor. Two-, three- and four-step variants share the same safety-critical design features as the tested model and are designed to meet the same performance requirements.
