Focus on Sensor Technology - Gas Detection 29 SENSOR+TEST 2022 offers an invaluable insight

to the latest sensor technology innovations With less than two months before its opening, preparations for Nuremberg’s SENSOR+TEST, taking place from May 10-12, 2022 are in full fl ow. Over 300 exhibitors will display their latest Solutions, products and technologies of sensor and measurement technology at the Nuremberg Messe. Visitors can fi nd out about these innovations now.

“We have turned into the home straight and are very pleased to fi nally be able to return to the Innovation Dialog with exhibitors and participants in Nuremberg and resume it with all its facets. The more than 300 expected exhibitors are looking forward to the presence event, which was sorely missed in the last two years, to present their innovations to the interested public in person again,” says organiser Holger Bödeker. If you cannot wait until May, many of these innovations can be marvelled at ahead of the event. Many product highlights are already available for visitors to the SENSOR+TEST website - and the site is updated daily with more exciting news about the technology to be highlighted at the live event.

“It’s worth taking a closer look before, during and even after the three days of the event,” recommends Holger Bödeker.

The exhibitors will show off their latest innovations not just with text and images, but also in an extensive selection of video presentations. The visitors can now save their exhibition ticket online. Registration can be found on the website.

“We cordially invite all interested visitors to SENSOR+TEST 2022 in Nuremberg. Register and enter into the innovation dialog with experts. Follow the activities of exhibitors and speakers on our internet portal, via newsletter as well as in the social media channels and network with them. This year, interested parties will fi nally be able to grasp cutting-edge technology with all their senses on site again. Each participant will be able to obtain the information that is important to him fi rst-hand and make new valuable contacts,” added Mr. Bödeker.

NET IRNET-PRO - the sensor for industrial CO2 and hydrocarbon monitoring

IRNET PRO is N.E.T. bestselling IR sensor. Available in both 20mm and 32mm diameter version, our comprehensive range of sensors is currently trusted by worldwide users in multiple application scenarios. From critical, life-saving functions, to process-optimization. From environmental quality control to property protection. From aggressive, corrosive environments to clean rooms and hospitals. From freezing, sub-zero conditions to the intense heat of production plants.

All N.E.T. infrared sensors run on a microprocessor-based platform for internal signal processing, providing a linearized and temperature compensated output in digital and analogue format – the ideal solution for instrument manufacturers, even without specialist knowledge in IR technology.

The 32mm version features a longer optical path, providing better resolution, stability, humidity drift and cross sensitivity, resulting in overall stronger specifi cations when compared to smaller 20mm versions. The smaller the detection range, the more 32mm sensor performances stand out. IRNET-P 32mm superior performances, reliability and versatility makes it the best solution available for integration in a fi xed gas detector for CO2

hydrocarbon gases such as propane and methane in LEL range. The 20mm version detects CO2

, CH4

or for or hydrocarbon gases such as propane and methane in LEL range. The 0-100%Vol range version features N.E.T.

DYNAMIC technology for the highest sensing accuracy ever seen in a compact sensor. DYNAMIC sensors also provide an optional digital output for Propane detection over 0-2.1%Vol range – the best option to detect different hydrocarbons using a cross-reference factor. The 20mm version is also available with ATEX and IECEx certifi cations.

All N.E.T. Infrared sensors have reached a safety integrity level of SIL2, as certifi ed by the Functional Safety Assessment released by TUV Nord with Registration No. 17 16483. No other gas sensor on the market is provided with a higher, certifi ed SIL capability, making our IR series the ideal choice for whoever is designing gas detection systems and SIL-rated functions aiming at the highest levels of functional safety.

Whilst oxygen sensors with metal lead inside are currently exempt from Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation, this is due to be lifted in 2024 and from that point equipment manufacturers may no longer be able to sell new instruments using lead-based technology.

Fortunately, DD-Scientifi c has spent considerable time and effort in developing a lead-free alternative solution delivering compliance with legislation as well as signifi cantly enhanced performance and sensor working lifetimes. The lead-free technology from DD-Scientifi c works in a similar way to traditional toxic electrochemical sensors which means that OEMs do not need to develop additional complex drive circuitry. Their design makes them inherently stable over a long period of time, potentially more than 8 years and unlike lead based sensors are unaffected by use in acid gas streams.

They are available in DD Scientifi c’s standard 4 Series general purpose industrial package and more recently in a miniature DceL package to enhance the portability of personal gas monitors. They are also available in the DD-Scientifi c 5 Series package for use in emissions monitoring and combustion gas analysis.
