Appoints New Director, VP, Global Marketing & Business


Development Servomex has appointed Andrew Thompson to the role of Director, VP, Global Marketing & Business Development, based at the UK Technical Centre in Crowborough, UK.


Andrew joins Servomex from


Honeywell, where he served as Vice President and General Manager for the EMEAI Honeywell Analytics Business, and was Global Head of Honeywell Industrial Safety, High Growth Regions, and Projects.


Reporting to and working closely with Servomex President Chuck Hurley, Andrew will be instrumental in driving Servomex’s marketing operations, ensuring these continue to develop and improve in line with the company’s business strategy.


Speaking about his new role, Andrew said: “Our customers should expect to see us building on the values that Servomex has represented for many years – customer focus, technical expertise and long-term support and partnership.


“We hope also to extend our offerings in technical solutions to more applications, as well as adding value to the customer business process. We have years of knowledge and experience to offer to the marketplace and will be looking at tools and forums that allow us to not only share that, but also apply that knowledge in the wider context of the customer’s commercial business.”


Andrew brings a ‘whole organisation’ ethos that will ensure Servomex continues to maintain its’ reputation as the expert leader in gas analysis.

Analytik Jena has now achieved particular recognition in China: At this year’s Annual Conference of China Scientifi c Instruments (ACCSI) the Company received multiple awards, including being named as one of the ten most infl uential foreign suppliers. Two Analytik Jena products also received recognition: ZEEnit 700P, a high-performance atomic absorption spectrometer for fully automated graphite AAS, was honored as one of the strongest instruments available for the second year in a row. AOX/TOX analyser multi X 2500 was a prize winner in the water analysis category.


The instruments that are to receive awards are decided by the users of the technology themselves in an online vote. As Analytik Jena CEO Ulrich Krauss put it: “This type of recommendation from user to user cannot be overestimated. They represent an important resource when it comes to decision-making in the fi eld. We are very proud that we did so well at the conference and that the Analytik Jena brand can increase its market presence in this way.” The ACCSI serves to support communications between vendors, researchers, and users to evaluate the scientifi c instruments of the year gone by and to look toward future developments in the fi eld. The conference is carried out by the China Association for Instrumental Analysis (CAIA) in cooperation with the Instrument.com.cn, which is active in serving the providers and users of scientifi c instruments. China is one of the most important markets for Analytik Jena.

PCME is Awarded Third


Prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise PCME Ltd, leading specialist in the development, manufacture and supply of continuous in-stack particulate emission and velocity measurement monitors has been awarded a third Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This prestigious award recognises outstanding business achievement by UK organisations.
