New Formaldemeter htV-m

New Sound Level Meter Launched

Casella (UK) hasn’t rested on its laurels since it launched the CEL-200 series of sound level meters last year to help H&S professionals comply with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005). The introduction of the CEL-242 and CEL-246 brings new capability to the range, which now stands at four instruments. The new models can store time history onto an onboard memory capable of logging over 400,000 measurements. Data is stored as files compatible with spreadsheet software packages (.csv format) and can simply be transferred via USB then graphed as required with any standard package.

The CEL-200 range can display a non-decaying maximum hold value on a number of screens showing the A or C frequency weighting and slow, fast or Impulse time responses. The time history facility of the new models shows how the noise has fluctuated and allows users to understand at what point noise control measures are necessary. The equipment has a large, high-resolution display which show results either numerically or by bar graph and can give a time history trace over the last 1 or 5 minute period.

Ideal for users who need a simple, low cost meter, the CEL-200 Series is fully compliant with all national and international accuracy

standards unlike some budget priced “indicators”. Each meter is available on its own or as part of a full measurement kit (e.g. CEL-246/K1) with a matching acoustic calibrator and other accessories, including calibration certificates and two year warranty.

PPM Technology (UK) is pleased to announce the launch of the new Formaldemeter htV-m. The new instrument with built in memory and real time clock, allows up to 1 month of continuous standalone monitoring and RS232 for direct data download.

The htV-m will be available alongside the original Formaldemeter htV. Both units will continue to offer 3 parameter Indoor Air Quality monitoring of temperature, humidity and to give immediate indication of hazardous formaldehyde vapour levels in the work place.

In addition to the exclusive functions offered by the htV, the new htV-m provides the user with benefits of continuous, standalone monitoring allowing more user freedom with increased levels of accuracy and protection. The built in memory and real time clock enables the new instrument to log all 3 parameters at corresponding times, allowing improved monitoring and analysis opportunity.

An RS232 link allows the user to connect the htV-m directly to a PC for downloading or direct pc control options without the need for additional hardware.

Since the new htV-m instrument can be used as a standalone unit it also offers the benefit of being mains rather than battery powered, making the model more reliable and cost effective.

At present, PPM Technology is developing a one-to-one wireless module system to be compatible with the htV-m. Each wireless node can receive and transmit digital signals and can be added via the 10-way connector at the back of the instrument. The htV-m will then be able to communicate wirelessly to a PC thus replacing the RS232 cable. This means that the htV-m can be coordinated to carry out the data logging and the downloading of data from hazardous and remote locations.
