Available from Alytech, France the LiqMix Cascade is an accurate, automated, cost effective way for on-site generation of gas standards for chemicals that are not commercially available in cylinders, such as unstable, reactive compounds in complex multicomponent mixtures. Calibration gas such as BTEX in air, other hydrocarbons, acetone, siloxanes, ethanol and phenol, humidity standards can be produced in your lab tailored to your needs.


This innovative multi-stage cascade dilution system can generate a standard gas from pure liquids or liquid mixtures in wide concentration range from % down to ppb with good accuracy, high repeatability, and full traceability. This makes the LiqMix Cascade a simple and reliable metrology tool to perform multi-point calibrations, linearity, and hysteresis checks, LOQ / LOD validation of gas sensors, GC or GC/MS systems and many other purposes. Liquid micro flow is delivered into a vaporizer precisely measured by Coriolis massflow controller where it injected into a flow of a carrier gas (air, N2


, H2 , He, … ). The Coriolis technology is virtually independent of liquid properties (temperature, density, conductivity, and viscosity) and can handle any liquid or liquid mixture without a need for a specific calibration very accurately.


To achieve very low concentrations a portion of homogenous gas/vapour mixture is delivered to the second dilution stage, so-called Cascade, where it is further diluted to desired ppb concentration. All interconnections and outlet line of LiqMix are heated in order to maintain the vapours in gas phase and thus avoiding re-condensation up to the delivery point.


Easy to handle, dedicated AlyTech GasMix software controls the operation, manages mass flow controllers, its calibration tables, performs automatic calculation of liquid and gas flows, to achieve desired concentration of analytes even for very complex multicomponent mixtures. Following highest metrology requirements the instrument not only accurately prepares the gas mixtures, but it also automatically calculates and reports maximum relative uncertainty for every delivered concentration.


Enhanced communication features of the software and automated programmed sequences enable full automation by synchronising the calibrator with a gas chromatograph, pre-concentrator, spectrometer, gas analyser or other system dramatically reducing labour time of analytical chemists.

Portable quadrupole analyser for environmental field studies


The Hiden pQA portable gas analyser is a versatile mass spectrometer and offered with a range of interchangeable sampling inlets to suit a broad application range. MIMS inlets are offered for analysis of dissolved species in ground water, fermentation cultures, soil samples, and general applications where analysis of dissolved species in liquid sample is required.


The system is suited to gas analysis applications, where sample volume is small, and for


environmental applications where detection of low concentration levels is required. The pQA system has a mass range of 200 amu and sub ppb detection levels. Extended mass range to 300amu is optional.


The system is supplied in a Pelican® case and can be powered by a 12 V supply for field use, battery and/or solar powered, or a 220 V supply for laboratory use.


Sampling inlet systems are offered for a broad application range including: Direct membrane inlet probe for immersion and/or insertion in liquid or sludge sample, soil core sampling for example; Recirculating probe for analysis of sample with continuous flow, extracted sea or estuary water for example; Flow through probe, low flow design for denitrification studies.


The system includes: Quadrupole mass spectrometer system from the RGA series with mass range options 200 amu; Mass spectrometer analyser manifold and UHV pump set with a manually valved dissolved species probe with silicone rubber membrane; Ion Gauge and interlocks to provide protection for the mass spectrometer in case of over pressure; fast acting shut off valve between the dissolved species probe and mass spectrometer manifold to protect the mass spectrometer in case of membrane failure - the valve is interlocked with the integral UHV pressure gauge; supplied in a ruggedised Pelican case for usability in the field; can be powered by a 12 V supply, from a vehicle power outlet, for example as well as a standard power outlet for laboratory use; total weight is less than 40 kg.
