Flow Level Pressure
New Ultrasonic Flowmeter For Te Hydrocarbon Industry
Siemens Industry, Inc. (USA) have announced the U.S. introduction of a new ultrasonic flowmeter for the hydrocarbon industry, the Sitrans FUT1010, which features the nearly maintenance-free TransLoc mounting system. The TransLoc mounting system allows the transducers to be mounted on the outside of the pipe, preventing contact with the medium. This approach, which only Siemens offers, enables the externally mounted transducers to be calibrated for higher accuracy. It also has the additional benefit that it alleviates clogging of cavities by high paraffin liquids, which is typically seen in conventional flowmeters used in hydrocarbon applications. TransLoc also ensures less maintenance and downtime, leading to low cost of ownership and improved return on investment (ROI).
The combination of WideBeam ultrasonic transit time flow technology with the delivery of the entire meter run, including the segments for upstream, downstream and the flow conditioner, can be calibrated to American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Gas Association (AGA) specifications. It also ensures that the Sitrans FUT1010 achieves highly accurate flow measurement. Sitrans FUT1010 is available in two versions: one for gas and one for liquids measuring viscosities up to 2800 cSt (centistokes). Its versatility makes it very suitable for up- , mid- and downstream measurement tasks, such as check metering, process control and underground storage surveillance. Since it can be installed on small as well as large pipes it is suitable for nearly any application, including custody transfer applications that require laboratory calibration.

BETA Pressure & Temperature Switches for Industry
Differential Pressure Transmitter Features Remote Housing
Vega (Germany) has introduced a new differential pressure transmitter; Vegadif 65. It comes with a metallic, piezoresistive measuring cell, has ranges from 10mBar to 40 bar and very good accuracy; < 0.075 %. This will guarantee reliable measured values in flow, density and interface applications. The Vegadif 65 has special features, like the IP 68 version with remote electronics, for deployment in very wet or humid areas, poorly accessible locations, or simply where the display can be read more easily without having to use capillaries. It has ATEX approvals; EEx d ia, Ex ia, Ex ia + Ex tD IP66 T. It has a wide selection of housings, in plastic, aluminium and stainless steel; in single or double chamber formats to optimise adaptation to customer requirements. A range of process connections and chemical seals are available in a variety of materials. Isolating systems can be installed via the scaled-down process fitting assembly, along with various diaphragm materials such as Monel and Tantalum. Process temperatures of -40 to +400 °C and static process pressures up to 420 Bar do not present any problem.
With its 4 to 20 mA/HART, Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus signal outputs, Vegadif 65 can be integrated into standard control systems. Simple setup and commissioning is carried out via the removable, back-lit indicating and adjustment module PLICSCOM, or with a PC using the adjustment software PACTware and other commercially available tools; PDM, AMS or Field Communicators. As Vegadif 65 is a member of the plics®
instrument family and with its functions and flexibility, it extends the
field of application considerably. Now, in differential pressure measurement technology, the user can profit from the proven advantages of the plics system, competitive pricing and a 5 year UK product warranty.

L&J Engineering (USA) recently launched its MCG 3630 Touch Panel Tank Monitor. The MCG 3630 boasts a number of significant improvements over its predecessor, the MCG 3600, including a more user-friendly interface. The touch screen LCD panel includes a built-in 1.6 GHz CPU and a 2.5’’ HDD bay. Additionally, the MCG 3630 can interface with multiple tanks to display level, temperature, BS&W and density via L&J Tankway, Modbus, GPE and even wireless protocols.
“The MCG 3630 is another example of L&J Engineering pushing the envelope in the level gauging market,” Product Manager Jim Jannotta said. “It’s designed to be user friendly as well as to ensure maximum reliability in critical level gauging applications.”
The MCG 3630 with touch panel tank monitor provides field polling support for level, temperature, BS&W and density. It
displays information as text and in graphical format for multiple tanks. The MCG 3630’s touch screen selectable system allows the user to easily monitor their inventory, change parameters and set alarm controls. The system supports host communication back to a DCS, PLC, or other accounting software with tank level, temperature, BS&W, and density being just a few of the parameters that can be sent. The MCG 3630 can communicate with L&J Engineering’s MCG 1600SFI High Accuracy Radar Gauge, MCG 2000 MAX Float & Tape Gauge Transmitter, MCG 8152 Magnetostrictive Gauge and MCG 1500SFI Servo Gauge along with all other L&J level gauging equipment.
