February / March 2012 New Low Cost GC Flowmeter for Gas Chromatography

Ellutia are pleased to launch the 7000 GC Flowmeter for use in gas chromatography. Accurate and repeatable gas flow measurements are a crucial part of obtaining good results from your Gas Chromatograph. The new 7000 GC Flowmeter makes gas flow measurement easier and more accurate, helping to eliminate user errors.

“We are very excited to be able to offer the 7000 GC Flowmeter at a price point significantly lower than other models on the market. We hope that this low price will allow chromatographers who previously could not justify the expense of other higher priced flowmeter’s the chance to have access to this valuable tool.” said Phillip James, Managing Director at Ellutia.

Creating a follow up to the best selling 6000 Flowmeter was never going to be easy, but by listening to customer feedback the new 7000 GC Flowmeter has a number of improvements over its predecessor. The pocket-sized unit is now a more ergonomic design, smaller (130 x

68 x 30 mm), lighter (150 g), features a built in rechargeable battery and a full colour OLED display. Despite the reduction in size the Flowmeter still offers the analytical performance expected.

The 7000 GC Flowmeter possesses a 25 point calibration traceable to UKAS standards, to ensure the level of accuracy required in a professional laboratory. Users are able to set the temperature and pressure of their working environment and the 7000 GC Flowmeter will automatically compensate for these changes from its calibration conditions.

The Ellutia 7000 GC Flowmeter provides as standard, measurement in ml/min of eight gases commonly used in gas chromatography. In addition to the standard flow measurement mode the 7000 GC Flowmeter also features several modes designed specifically for the GC user. Linear Velocity mode allows the user to set their column diameter and then display the average column velocity in cm/sec. Split Flow mode allows the user to see a live display of both the split flow and split ratio.

Porex Chromatography and SPE Media products include: affinity filters and supports – used in pipette tips, 96 well plates, spin down and gravity flow centrifuge columns, affinity filters and supports are designed as a support in critical peptide, protein, and oligonucleotide purification and concentration procedures; dissolution filters – used in conjunction with pharmaceutical tablet and capsule products to help filter contaminates during the dissolution testing process; protein crash/ protein precipitation filters – used to remove precipitated protein during mixing and incubation without plugging, breakthrough, or acetonitrile and other organic solvent leakage, thus eliminating time-consuming centrifugation and transfer steps; and SPE frits and filters – used in SPE columns, cartridges, 48 and 96 well plates and pipette tips, our chromatography frits facilitate column flow through and allow for organic solvent filtration and high sensitivity analysis.
