29th International Symposium
on Chromatography (ISC) 9th – 13th September 2012, Torun, Poland
Professor Boguslaw Buszewski Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland
For the first time in Eastern Europe, the Steering Committee of the International Symposium on Chromatography has awarded the organisation of the 29th International Symposium on Chromatography (29th ISC), to the Polish Chemical Society and Commission for Chromatographic Analysis (PAS).
The Symposium will be held on the 9th to 13th September 2012 in Toruń, Poland.
The theme of this event is ‘Chromatography & Separation Science; Past, Present and Future’
We are particularly pleased that this international symposium has been awarded to Poland because chromatography was first developed in Warsaw by M. S. Tswett and the foundations of the chromatographic process were laid by W. Nernst, who was born in Wąbrzeźno near Toruń (formerly Prussia).
This event will be devoted entirely to the role and applications of modern separation techniques in all their application areas. Symposium topics will cover both theoretical and practical lectures including;
• Fundamentals of separation science • GC, SFC
• TLC, (U)HPLC • Electromigration techniques • Miniaturisation and chip technologies • Instrument hyphenation • Sample preparation • Method validation • Modelling and simulation
The symposium is supported by the European Society for Separation Science (EuSSS), the Central European Group for Separation Science and the Nordic Separation Science Society.
Toruń, the venue for the symposium, is well positioned and accessible to Central Europe. Torun is a city with a long lasting
tradition of political and scientific dialogue and cooperation, notable for being the home of the famous astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus. Torun is also important for being the venue of two historical peace treaties in 1411 and 1466.
As the President of EuSSS, the Chairman of the Polish Chemical Society and Commissioner of the Chromatographic Analysis Society (PAS) I would like to invite you to visit our picturesque, gothic city - Toruń.
