Conclusion In conclusion we have demonstrated the use of a new low-
cost infrared microscope possessing many of the capabilities of high-priced systems. Technological advances in audio-digital technology and digital cameras have improved the perfor- mance of infrared microscopes such that analysis of samples as small as 60 micrometers are now routine.
