Shepway site COMMUNITY leaders have in- spected the site of a proposed re- generation on the Shepway estate, Maidstone.

Hazlitt drops comic after football Tweets


THE Hazlitt Theatre has pulled a comic Andrew Lawrence's ap- pearance for remarks about Eng- land's black footballers he posted on Twitter.


The 350-seat venue cancelled his October date over comments about their ability to take penalties. Mr Lawrence has since deleted


his twitter account after receiving criticism from other social media users.


A statement from the Hazlitt's parent company, Parkwood The- atres, said: "Andrew Lawrence has used social media platforms to ex- press remarks that do not reflect the values of Parkwood Theatres. "Therefore, we have taken steps to cancel his performance at the Hazlitt Theatre in October. All cus- tomers who had tickets for this performance will be contacted by our box office in order for them to receive a full refund."

The comedian did not delete his Facebook account with 43,000 fol- lowers.
