‘PERFECT’ FESTIVAL OPENER SOUL FUL SOUNDS OF SCOT T I SH S INGER
One of the highlights of this year’s Lichfield Festival has to be the performance of Scottish singer songwriter Eddi Reader, widely considered to be one of the country’s greatest living female voices, appearing at the festival on Friday, July 9th. Having shot to fame in the 1980s with the fondly remembered folk pop act Fairground Attraction, their quirky, debut single Perfect was the soundtrack of the late 80s.
Forty years on though, Eddi is embarking on a celebratory tour marking her four decades in the business and the Lichfield date is the first on her ‘40 Years Live’ itinerary, which has been postponed from last year.
Sally-ann Bloomer catches up with her at her West Scotland home to see how lockdown and life has been treating her.
