Welcome to the June edition of your Live 24-Seven magazine – almost half way through the year already. More importantly it feels as we are back to some sort of normality at last and for me this month at work I have really noticed the difference.
We have news and features on all sorts of events, the likes of which we’ve not seen for more than a year.
Lichfield Festival, which takes place in July, has a fabulous programme lined up and I was lucky enough to interview the wonderful singer songwriter Eddi Reader, formerly of Fairground Attraction, who is one of the headline acts there. I don’t want to give away my age, but I actually saw Fairground Attraction at Glastonbury back in the 80s and she has the most amazing voice so I think audiences are in for a treat.

Lots of us have missed our visits to restaurants over the past few months and if you want to catch up on lost time, why not pay a visit to the Cheltenham Food and Drink festival at the end of the month where you can meet lots of food producers selling and sampling their wares as well as listening to culinary experts talking, including local chef Joe McCarthy who we also feature.
Gardening has become another of our national obsessions during the pandemic too as we have been able to spend more time in them, both working and relaxing. Later this month The Three Counties Showground plays host to a brand new, three-day event, The Midsummer Garden Life Festival – a Mecca for all things horticultural.
We also put the spotlight on Portugal in our travel section, one of the first countries added to the green list of places allowable to visit and we look at some of the less obvious attractions in the Algarve for those looking for more than just sun, sea and sand.
