LI VE 2 4 - SEVEN – THE MIDL ANDS PREMIER LUXURY LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE INCORPORATING THE MIDL ANDS PROPERTY GUIDE

Welcome to the May edition of Live 24-Seven magazine and what a month April was. Lockdown restrictions were lessened and finally we could see family and friends again, shops opened up and who could resist that long-awaited first visit to the pub? I think shop keepers and publicans alike were delighted to see their old customers and hopefully get their businesses back up and running. The weather kept us on our toes too with glorious sunshine on some days and crazy snow storms on others and as any socialising should be outside until the middle of the month, this posed a few challenges. With this in mind, for this edition we have turned out attention to alfresco entertaining and bring you some great ideas for creating stylish socialising in your gardens, with stunning garden furniture and design tips too.

The world of entertainment is slowly opening back up too and organisers are optimistically promoting their events for later in the summer. This month we put the spotlight on this year’s Lichfield Festival which is back with some fantastic acts lined up and sensible Covid precautions in place to protect us all. There’s also the Warwick Folk Festival so certainly plenty to keep us entertained this summer.

From next month we hope all group restrictions will be lifted which means all the weddings cancelled last year and a whole host more will be allowed to go ahead which is fabulous news for couples as well as all the businesses. Looking for inspiration? We have a look at different types of weddings for those thinking of tying the knot as well as showcasing some stunning wedding outfits too.

And finally, we cannot let this issue pass without paying our respects to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who sadly passed away at the age of 99 on April 9. Together with the Queen, Prince Philip visited our region many times, for both of their Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations, visiting factories, schools, sporting venue and shopping centres. Crowds gathered to cheer the Royal couple and countless memories were made. Thousands of others have also taken part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme and will no doubt feel a debt of gratitude to him for enabling this. We share our condolences with the Queen and the Royal Family.
