NEW-LOOK SOLIHULL TOWN CENTRE - READY AND RARING TO WELCOME PEOPLE BACK
Shoppers and visitors returnedg to a fresh and exciting Solihull town centre when Covid restrictions were loosened last month.
Solihull BID – the Business Improvement District for the town centre – has been working hard during lockdown to make the area an even more welcoming place to visit. The BID’s ‘Solihull Welcomes You’ campaign is urging locals to fall back in love with shopping, dining, and relaxing in the town centre.
A new Community Seating Hub has been installed on the High Street, complementing the one already in situ in Mell Square. There will also be three more smaller, parklet-style Seating Hubs dotted down the High Street. The BID has also transformed the Theatre Square area of Touchwood by the Core Theatre into an attractive outdoor dining area with chalets and benches so you can enjoy your favourite restaurants in a safe and welcoming environment.
And you won’t have to shop until you drop, either. Over 50 benches have been brought in by the BID for use in Mell Square and the High Street so you’ll be able to rest up, whilst adhering to Government guidelines.

Melanie Palmer, Chief Executive of Solihull BID, said: “The big ‘reset’ has begun, and our clear and pragmatic approach for the reopening of the town centre will show our visitors how much they are valued, we can’t wait to have you back!
“The predicted rise in sales is backed by the recent research showing consumer confidence is at an all-time high since 2008. Our careful but positive approach means our shoppers can return reassured that Solihull will make the experience both enjoyable and safe, a great start to a new future!”
