LICHFIELD FESTIVAL 2021 S T E L LAR L INE -UP

We would probably all agree that 2020 is a year best forgotten. As audiences filtered out after a glorious final concert of the 2019 Lichfield Festival, it seems incredible to think that Covid would stop all in its tracks, forcing the cancellation of the entire 2020 season. But with hope now on the horizon for venues to re-open, the 39th Lichfield Festival is back, and both artists and audiences are looking forward to making up for lost time.

For artists, many of whom are freelancers, the impact of the pandemic has been especially hard so, as well as welcoming back much-missed audiences, the Festival was keen to re-invite many of those artists whose appearances were cancelled last year.

There will be changes to the ‘normal’ way of things, of course – the safety and well-being of Festival-goers and artists will be paramount – with distancing regulations in all the venues expected still to be in place this July. With this is mind, there will be shorter event times and the majority of performances will be repeated, particularly those in the smaller venues, enabling two sittings for each.

There will also be a number of alfresco events making the most of the glorious summer weather (we hope) and some of Lichfield’s beautiful and verdant outdoor spaces.
