TRAVE L THE BEAUT Y OF BRI TAIN

AND DOGGY COMES TOO FINE DINING AND CANINE LUXURY

Holidaying at home does mean dog owners can take their pets away with them to enjoy a break from home too and many places now offer this option.

Dogs and their owners are made most welcome at the Crown & Castle at Orford. The a highly rated restaurant with just 21 rooms is a few steps from Henry II’s 12th century castle keep in the peaceful Suffolk village.

There are five dog-friendly ground floor rooms with direct access into the garden. Pooches can relax in front of the open fire in the bar or sit alongside their owners as they eat on the terrace. There is also one bookable dog-friendly table in the AA two rosette restaurant with sittings at 6.30pm and 8.15pm where dogs can stay with their owners as they dine.

Up to two dogs can stay per room at a charge of £10 per night including some canine treats such as tasty doggy biscuits, poop bags and drying towels. There are also suggestions for dog friendly walks in nearby Rendlesham Forest and alongside Orford Quay.

Good quality, unpretentious food is at the heart of what the Crown & Castle offers in its lively restaurant with delicious dishes and creative British menu featuring a wealth of quality Suffolk produce including Orford landed seafood and locally reared meats, plus classic favourites.
