WEDDING BELLES A DAY TO REMEMBER


Not many people were lucky enough to get married last year but Shivani Gogna and Thomas Duggan celebrated their nuptials with a wonderful ceremony at Swinfen Hall at the end of September, after cancelling their scheduled June date.


The emphasis was very much on the food and the wedding party enjoyed a fabulous five course tasting menu. Tom’s mum created all the floral decorations and the bride’s bouquet and they chose simple and classy arrangements with plenty of colour.


There could be no traditional first dance but Shivani didn’t let this stop her dancing down the aisle to The Bare Necessities after their vows. Musical entertainment was provided by Enigma String Quartet who performed a varied playlist, with classical, Motown and Bollywood. After a champagne reception and afternoon tea in the glorious September sunshine, there were also giant garden games which were enjoyed by all whilst photos were taken by Sally Wood Photography of Lichfield.


Shivani and Thomas said: “Swinfen Hall was our dream destination, our coordinator made everything seem easy, communicating and organising everything while the rules were constantly changing under lockdown. Service was both professional and attentive, the menu constructed to perfection (including the well adapted vegetarian options). The bridal suite with jacuzzi bath completed the experience as did the sumptuous cooked breakfast in the morning. We will forever have fond memories, captured on the photos with the backdrop of the stunning grounds.”


The bride’s stunning dress was provided by Kiss XX Bridal Wear, also of Lichfield and the groom’s outfit was from Scotney’s of London Road (Leicester), with Tom choosing tails.


After the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Cornwall staying in a hobbit house, retro van and even a night of camping.
