Retlaw Prairie 4-H, including multiple years as president,Mills upped her game this year by stepping up as the president for the Taber 4-H Corn Dawgs as well. Mentoring youth is a big passion for

Mills and she has put many hours into both the Stepping Stones Mentorship program and the Taber Youth Do Crew. “She astounds me with her work ethic, maturity, a friendly and caring personality, and her com- mitment to succeed at all she attempts,” said Jodi Lillico, a leader with Retlaw Prairie 4-H.“(She) has accomplished a lot which is commendable but what makes it even more impressive is that Chelsey is very shy by nature and she has had to really put herself out there to achieve all that she has.” Mills is an accomplished public speaker and she com-

peted in the Oddfellows and Rebekahs Youth United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth Speech Competition in 2019, which she eventually won. On top of her 4-H and mentoring commitments,Mills

has volunteered her time with Snowfest, volunteering at hockey games in Taber promoting Kraftville when the

town was in the running, set up for the APEX Awards by setting up tables and chairs and helping to decorate, and drawing sidewalk chalk designs on all the sidewalks at Clearview Lodge dur- ing the spring COVID lockdown to cheer up residents. Mills has also been serving on the

Vauxhall High School student council and the safe and caring committee for the past four years. She has a big passion for playing vol- leyball and she’s suited up for both club ball and for Vauxhall High School. With high school graduation coming, Mills has decided to attend Lethbridge

College this fall in the Child and Youth Care program before transitioning to the University of Lethbridge. “Miss Mills is always looking to pay it forward, whether it is through her volunteerism as a mentor and leader; or as a voice for change for other Grade 12 students within the education system of Alberta. As witnessed by her leadership on student council, Chelsey is always willing to serve her fellow students,” said Todd Ojala,VHS prin- cipal.“She has given her time and talents wherever and to whoever needed it." After post-secondary school,Mills aspires to become a

registered clinical psychologist with her own private practice.
